  • Staph latex test is a slide agglutination assay for the qualitative detection of coagulase (both clumping factor and protein A) to identify Staphylococcus aureus to the exclusion of other species of staphylococci
  • For use on pure culture samples suspected of being S. aureus; detects methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA) strains that produce clumping factor and protein A; can be used on live cultures from 5% sheep blood agar plates
  • All testing materials needed to perform the test are included in each kit; color-coded controls with dropper tip vials included in the kit
  • The 45-second tests offer greater than 99% correlation with a tube coagulase test and are simple to interpret
