The Cook Retrieval Set G52917 Gunther Tulip Vena Cava Filter for Pulmonary Embolism, 30 mm Diameter, 50 mm Filter Length, 7.0 Fr is specified for demanding clinical and facility environments. Used for the prevention of recurrent pulmonary embolism via placement in the vena cava in the following situations: Pulmonary thromboembolism when anticoagulant therapy is contraindicated; Failure of anticoagulant therapy in thromboembolic diseases; Emergency treatment following massive pulmonary embolism where anticipated benefits of conventional therapy are reduced; and Chronic, recurrent pulmonary embolism where anticoagulant therapy has failed or is contraindicated. Key Features

• Set consists of the following items: Preloaded filter introducer, coaxial introducer sheath system, hydrophilic coated dilator and three-way stopcock.
• Filter may be retrieved according to the Instructions for Use in the section labeled "Optional Retrieval Procedure"; retrieval of the filter can be performed only by the jugular approach.
• Filter is introduced and placed via an 8.5 Fr coaxial introducer sheath system.
